William W. Cowles joined Maduegbuna Cooper in 2013 after interning with the firm. He graduated from the CUNY School of Law where he served as an executive Articles Editor for the City University of New York (CUNY) Law Review. During law school, William interned with Brooklyn Legal Services, Beldock, Levine & Hoffman LLP working on civil rights litigation, and the New York State Office of the Attorney General, Civil Rights Bureau. He also completed judicial internships with the Honorable Ronald L. Ellis and the Honorable James C. Francis in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Prior to joining the firm, William represented low-income tenants in Manhattan Housing Court as part of a post-graduate fellowship providing legal services.
His litigation work focuses on civil rights, employment law, and commercial matters.
